MANCHESTER CITY'S TITLE DEFENSE TAKES YET ANOTHER TWIST

Despite James Milner's stoppage-time equaliser against Hull City yesterday, Manchester City fell further behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title on Saturday. Manuel Pellegrini's side must claw back a seven-point gap if they are to retain the trophy they won last year, but having gone five games without a win that looks unlikely.

Yaya Toure's absence from the city line up has been highlighted as the major reason behind City's dip in form .This has illustrated just how key the former Barcelona man is to their cause. The "Noisy neighbours" as they are famously known are winless this season when the Ivorian has not been in the team, and have gone from being level with Chelsea to seven points behind since he left for the Africa Cup of Nations. Another reason for their dip in form has been their poor home form . City's title win in 2013-14 season was built around their impressive home form, with only Chelsea defeating them at the Etihad Stadium. But after Stoke City left the blue half of Manchester with all three points earlier in the season, Pellegrini's side have now won just one of their last four home league fixtures.
