These were the first words from Prof Otike then the chancellor of Moi University during the orientation of first years who camped at the 'Students Center' to ear of their bright life in Campus. Many had worked hard in high school with an anticipation of joining a university.Their dreams came live when they were selected to join Moi University,an institution they would change their lives right from even the appearance of the environment of the institution.
Day by day, things started changing especially for students pursuing Bachelors of Arts degree where they started being seen crowding in one of their lecture halls commonly known as LT1.Others are still seen standing outside the hall just for the sake of attending a lecture
What a mess! One would ask did the Admission office not know the capacity the university is supposed to hold?Sequential scenes have been happening since then.Barely two weeks after first years commonly reffered to as"Freshers" had reported, blackouts started.Information from a reliable source reveals that tat this was the trend in the university and it has been happening since and its normally between 7pm-midnight.
Furthermore, students in the School of Arts have been spotted demonstrating just because some of them are in 4th year and they are yet to receive their previous years results slips. This should not be the case as each student is supposed to receive results after every academic year.
actually we are of difference but wish it was a positive and not the negative. with that we could be celebrating our uniqueness in the entire country.
ReplyDeleteInfact we are unique in our own way, since we are allowed to prepare food(of course not to cook) in our rooms.
